TransLink ‘Expecting’ B-Line Offspring

The District is promoting a ‘new’ concept conceived by TransLink called “Rapid–Bus” (don’t mention the B-Line) and encourages all residents to read what T-L plans for our future .. and to take part in a survey which, based on feedback from early participants, seems to steer respondents towards a favourable “Rapid-Bus” concept . But think for yourself.
Here is an excerpt from the District web-page – and you can find the links below:-

West Vancouver’s position on Rapid Bus

In March 2019, West Vancouver Council stopped Rapid Bus at Park Royal and resolved that any potential future expansion would be required to:

  • avoid routing adjacent to schools
  • not require any restricted bus lane in the Ambleside or Dundarave business districts
  • minimize the loss of on-street parking
  • minimize impacts on residential neighbourhoods

There are no immediate plans to consider expanding Rapid Bus into West Vancouver. The maps provided by TransLink in the engagement material represent potential major corridors for future rapid transit expansion.
